Here’s a peek at Tina Givens‘ next collection, Haven’s Edge. There are three colorways, her signature dramatic/fantastic style rendered in a bright, saturated palette, and … voiles! For you us voile fans, the bottom photo shows the prints — a sophisticated floral and a coordinating geometric trellis print. Haven’s Edge will be in stores soon [...]
I can’t get Tom Jones’ song out of my head when I look at Tanya Whelan‘s new collection Delilah — the two don’t go together at all, but I still like the juxtaposition! Delilah (the fabrics) is already available in stores, except, I believe, for the laminates.
I spent literally the final moments of fall Market at Kaffe Fassett’s booth talking to him and the always-awesome Liza Prior Lucy. So, I didn’t manage to get shots of the new prints, but I’m sure Liza wouldn’t mind me pointing you over to Glorious Color to see them! New Kaffe prints include a floral [...]
Jane Sassaman is being her usual wild, weird, cool self with Garden Divas. The print above is especially gorgeous, isn’t it? You can see all three colorways (Exotic, Pastel, and Peacock) on her website. Garden Divas is scheduled to be in stores this month.
Jennifer Paganelli‘s newest is called Queen Street, and it features her signature blend of bohemian/psychedelic and traditional in a bright, bold palette. It’s in stores now, except for the laminates (bottom photo), which should follow shortly.
Here’s a little peek at Valori Wells‘ upcoming collection Jenaveve, which marks her and FreeSpirit’s first venture into a cotton/linen blend. Jenaveve will also have some companion cotton/linen solids (seen below). Lovely! (Not sure about the release date, sorry!)
I’m even more excited for Denyse Schmidt‘s new collection, Greenfield Hill, now that I’ve seen it up close. Her geometric prints are always so perfectly simple and versatile and sweet. And the 3-Dness of the big floral print (the topmost print in the bottom photo) is really gorgeous. Above are the voiles, which you can [...]
I am so excited about Jay McCarroll‘s upcoming collection, Habitat. His first three collections were cute and quirky and cool but here he’s gone sophisticated and fashionable — maybe more what you’d expect from him! These prints are just gorgeous and innovative and would be great for apparel or quilts or anything, really. I took [...]
In case you hadn’t heard, ex-Trading Spaces carpenter-turned-Extreme Home Makeover host Ty Pennington is designing fabrics for Westminster! He already has a line of home textiles and accessories for Sears, so this is a natural extension of his growing interior design brand. This first collection is called Impressions. Obviously, this photo isn’t Ty! Unfortunately, I [...]
Did I say that Echino was probably the most-photographed display? Certainly that honor has to go to Amy Butler. This season her award-winning booth was devoted to her new fabric collection Soul Blossoms (which is just hitting stores now), two new sewing patterns (the Reversible Sunday Sling Bag and the Oval Patchy Pillow, which also [...]
{ Zoo Menagerie – Green Colorway } I love love love Eleanor Grosch. The Philadelphia-based illustrator is best known for her retro-modern, graphic animal illustrations. I loved her collection for Keds, and in fact I still have these shoes which I wore to death and are really decrepit now but I can’t bear to get [...]
New Release Tuesday is my weekly roundup of new fabric sightings. These fresh arrivals have started to arrive in fabric shops and are ready to buy. Retailers, as always, if you carry any of these collections, let us know in the comments. The carnival print from Kokka was probably my single most favorite print [...]
Kaffe Fassett and Liza Prior Lucy were missing from Quilt Market this time, and it wasn’t the same without them! But there was new Kaffe fabric, of course. Marleybone (above) is the second installment in the Liberty Art Fabrics collection — these are prints chosen from the Liberty archives and colored by Kaffe. Learn more [...]
I was thrilled to sit down with Freespirit/Westminster for the first time in an official capacity this Market … thanks to Sarah Bailey for taking the time to show me everything! First up, the newest collections that are in shops now (or will be in just a second). I also got to meet Valori and [...]
