Timeless Treasures: Elephant Showers

Elephant Showers, a house collection from Timeless Treasures, is so retro-good, I may not need to shop for vintage fabric again. Well, that will never happen, but these happy 60s-70s prints made the thought at least cross my mind, so that’s saying something! { image courtesty Hawthorne Threads }

Fall Quilt Market 2011: Yuwa – Live Life

I’m not sure what Yuwa’s Live Life collection is about, since we have a kitchen print, a kid’s print, and a Christmas print here. They’re all retro and they’re all sort of large scale, and all super cute. I couldn’t stop flipping through the Christmas print, each colorway was irresistible.

Fall Quilt Market 2011: Michael Miller – Kids

Michael Miller has always had the greatest retro Kids prints, and their new kids collections continue that tradition. I love the Happy Birthday print (why has no one done that before?) — it would make a sweet quilt backing, tablecloth for birthday parties, and of course bunting as its little coordinate suggests.   The British [...]

Fall Quilt Market 2011: Michael Miller – Kitchen

It’s Michael Miller time! They introduced their color stories at the Spring Quilt Market, and this time around there are more groups and more fabrics in each group. The Michael Miller Studios collections are still organized by theme — the color stories provide another way to group prints (and their new Cotton Couture solids) together [...]

Black & White Floral by Yuko Furutani

Here’s a simple black & white retro floral, from the Mono Cloth collection by Yuko Furutani for Daiwabo. It also comes in black on white. From Japan Lovely Crafts on Etsy.

Textile Stew: 8/2/11

The British brand Horrockses is re-launching this month! See my previous posts on Horrockses. “Cotton that looks like silk” from Reese Scannell in Australia (via Red Pepper Quilts) Casey’s Elegant Musings on Sourcing Vintage Fabric (and new fabric for vintage styles) Previews Tanya Whelan’s new book (out in December) Tilly strike-offs from Daisy Janie Circa [...]

Club Geluk

Club Geluk is a Netherlands-based company that “makes products for grown ups and children for a happy household.” They design their own fabrics and sell them by the meter as well as sewing them up into all kinds of textiles, from bedding and cushions to potholders and bags. I love the retro-kitschy-folky designs! They also [...]

BunnyBunnybyPinks

I posted about BunnyBunnybyPinks more than a year ago, but had forgotten about them completely till I stumbled across their crazy sweet 60s-inspired fabrics again on Etsy. So I assume you have forgotten too and would appreciate the reminder! This is a brick-and-mortar and webshop in Osaka, Japan that produces their own exclusive fabric collection [...]

Kokka Trefle Scandi Prints

Folky/Pennsylvania Dutch/Scandinavian motifs have been a trend in fabrics for a couple years now. Are you tired of it yet? Not me. These prints are part of the new Trefle offerings from Kokka. Spotted at Fabricworm — there are a few other colorways, including black and grey, and a cute little mushroom coordinate.

Alice Apple: New Fabrics

Just two of the many new Spoonflower-printed fabrics from Alice Apple. I just love her! ( images from Alice Apple’s blog )

Organic Collections From Timeless Treasures

{ Shipyard } Timeless Treasures has a few new GOTS-certified organic fabric collections, and I think the prints are just stellar (Shipyard, above, being my favorite, on account of the mother-of-boys thing). Here are some of the prints, shown with a coordinate … to see the entire collections just click on the images. Have you [...]

Retro Outdoor Fabric

So you know how I was wishing for outdoor furniture last week? I went into IKEA just for breakfast yesterday and rolled out with the Tullerö set. Total impulse buy (I mean, what a bargain!), and even though it’s smallish it should suit our needs. The cushions, sold separately, were cruddy, so I passed on [...]

Fall Quilt Market 2010 – Yuwa – Misc.

Just a few more shots from Yuwa — several wonderful one-off vintage reproduction prints, and more kawaii and retro/European/text fabrics that are their specialty.

Fall Quilt Market 2010: Alexander Henry – In the Kitchen

In the Kitchen is Alexander Henry’s ongoing retro-domestic collection. This year’s popular Farmdale was part of it, and I think these two upcoming collections will be just as coveted. Both are very 60s mod and cheery. The first group with the snails brings in the popular and versatile Heath fabric weave print to their quilting-weight [...]

Japanese Fabric of the Week: Yuwa Scandi Kitchen

Oh boy, am I ever crazy about this retro Scandinavian (?) kitchen print. It’s a cotton-linen blend from Yuwa, spotted at Retrosaria in Portugal. I haven’t seen it in any other shops in the U.S. or abroad, but if I do, I’ll let you know.
