Of course before computers most fabric designs were derived from paintings, but only some purposefully preserved the brushstrokes. I’m crazy for the c.50s dress fabric florals especially — this one is from Sarodeo on Flickr.
Painted fabric designs are a rarity these days, at least on the contemporary fabric scene. But thanks to artists like Blugirlart and Laura Gunn, maybe they’re making a comeback?
