From the looks of it, Hokkoh had a smaller booth set up this year (no samples), but the collections were strong and they brought with them a small rack of apparel fabric that I was going a bit crazy over. The apparel fabric was a bit of a test for them, and they were surprised [...]

Garden is another knockout collection from Japanese company Hokkoh, and it’s just arriving in stores now. In case you’re Googling it, you might find it billed as a Lecien collection (Lecien is a Hokkoh distributor in the U.S.).
In addition to Garden, Japanese company Hokkoh also introduced three other collections. These first two both feature photorealistic screenprinting. First is Forest & Cute Animal Collection: And the second is Foppish Friends, starring these ladies: Finally, the pretty and painterly Tea Party:
The Japanese company Hokkoh continues to make a strong showing at Market. This time they presented four collections. The biggest one was called Garden — I can’t stop staring at these gorgeous, saturated colors. Both are modern takes on traditional Japanese themes and techniques. Forest has woodland motifs rendered in a painterly fashion — or would you call that batik? And Wa-Modern is literally “Japanese Modern,” [...]
One of my favorite new discoveries at the Fall 2009 Quilt Market was the Japanese manufacturer Hokkoh. Hawthorne Threads just got in their shipment of two Hokkoh collections, Asagohan (above) and Market Fresh (below), each in three colorways. From what I recall from Quilt Market, the basecloth, though they’re calling it canvas, has a really [...]
This was Japanese fabric manufacturer Hokkoh‘s first Quilt Market (or at least, their first Fall market), and their presence confirmed to me that the popularity of Japanese fabric in the United States is increasing. Hokkoh produces higher-end apparel fabrics — mostly cotton lawn, double gauze, and linen-cotton blends. At market they had about a quarter [...]
