This post is part of a series reporting on the Spring 2009 International Quilt Market by True Up East Coast Stringer Mary Beth of Supafine. OH. EM. GEE. You guys. I’ve never been up close and personal with any of Kokka’s fabric before. So if I get a little drool on this post, I beg [...]
Yesterday I covered silkworms and silk production, now let’s learn about different types of silk. It is very [...]

Best Juvenile Collections My two favorite juvenile collections last year both did “gender neutral” in unique ways. Jackie Shapiro’s Sweetpea line for Windham used bold graphics in yellow (the traditional go-to gender neutral color) with orange, green, and red, and touches of pink and gray. There is enough variety in the collection to go completely [...]
Heather Ross has posted a sneak peek at her Spring 2009 collection for Kokka, Far Far Away. In a word: UNICORNS! I’m crazy about the new Heather Ross line, titled “Rabbits and Racecars,” from the Japanese company Kokka. It’s her first line of decor-weight fabrics, designed with modern nurseries and children’s rooms in mind. Since it’s from Japan and a heavier weight, it’s more expensive than her Freespirit lines, but come on! Take a look at [...]
