At Quilt Market this spring, the folks at Hokkoh described their collection Wa-Modern (it may also be listed as Wa-Nouveau, if you’re Googling) as traditional Japanese motifs made modern. I only got to see little swatches of it at that time, and of course it’s even more spectacular as yardage. Thanks to Portland’s Bolt Fabric [...]
Erin McMorris‘ followup to her wonderful Weekends is Irving Street Flannel, a bright, cheery kid’s collection in three colorways inspired by her hometown of Portland, OR. Makes me want to move to there … but then again, what doesn’t? Irving Street is available in stores now.
Here is a little peek at Mo Bedell‘s next collection for Blue Hill Fabrics, called Magic Garden. See all the prints in detail here. I love the border print and the butterflies! Magic Garden will debut at the Fall Quilt Market and be in stores … hmmm, not sure, but I’d estimate early 2011?
Heather Ross‘ new collection exclusively for Spoonflower, Macaroni Love Story, is going on sale today. Finally, the clothespin people see the light of day! Same for the newspaper boats. And the rest of the prints round out the theme of awesome kids’ crafts. (Heather’s page on Spoonflower doesn’t seem to be working at the moment, [...]
Australian designer Saffron Craig recently introduced her latest self-produced range of fabrics, Bird Tree. It’s a sweet, modern collection in striking purple and chartreuse. These and past prints can be purchased directly from the Saffron Craig website, or throughout Australia and the world through your favorite brick-and-mortar and online retailers.
Country Lane by Bari J. for Windham (Meadow Monarchs print shown above, courtesy Ms. Bari herself) — we’ll definitely be seeing and hearing more about this collection ’round these parts. The very pretty Sonoma by Frachelle Contreras for Henry Glass. She’s got a giveaway going on her blog right now. A trio of new collections [...]
Tanya Whelan has unveiled her upcoming collection for Freespirit, Delilah, which will debut at Fall Quilt Market and be in shops soon after. See all the prints on her blog. She writes, “It has some of the spirit of Darla, the big dotted roses feel so vintage kitchen to me, but with a few smaller [...]
Queen Street will be Jennifer Paganelli‘s next collection. I like the 3-D effect of Dolin (how’d they do that?) and the dots that are like Kei Dots only not so much money! It’s her signature color palette and style with a bit of a 70s twist.
Yippee! Keep an eye on her blog for more. Though I know you already do. Innocent Crush will debut at Fall Quilt Market and be in stores shortly afterwards. Also? I want those tights!
Denyse Schmidt has posted previews of her Fall 2010 collection, Greenfield Hill, on her website (hop over here to see the other two colorways). I love her description: Inspired by Ladies’ League luncheons and Preservation Society socials, Greenfield Hill evokes afternoon teas, polite gossip, the faded wallpaper in Mrs. So-and-so’s drawing room, the slightly musty [...]
Here’s a little peek at Patty Young’s next collection for Michael Miller. It’s a quilting cotton collection (I love that you have to specify that now — it’s no longer assumed!) named Sanctuary, due out this October. Shop owners, it’s not even ready for pre-order yet, but keep an eye on Patty’s blog for updates. [...]
Rosalie Quinlan (of Melly & Me fame) has unveiled her next collection for Lecien, Sweet Broderie. I absolutely love it! These simple, versatile geometrics are exactly the kinds of prints I like to use for quilting.
1. Umm, WOW. 2. 40 prints, in three-four colorways each. How much money could you theoretically spend? 3. There is an Asian theme, though doesn’t smack you over the head with it. Liberty’s own unique interpretation of traditional Japanese motifs. 4. The colors: muted, lots of gray, greens and teals, warm pink, with some pops [...]
Cloud9 Fabrics is bringing back their most popular prints from their debut My Happy Garden collection, and adding a couple new prints and colors. The result is My Happy Nursery. This sweet, modern collection will be on 44-45″ wide quilting weight cotton, 100% certified organic cotton printed with low impact dyes, and will be available [...]
I started this Quilt Market out at Lizzy House’s rocking, standing-room-only schoolhouse presentation, and ended it at the Andover booth for some quickie shots of their upcoming collections from our favorite designers. Lizzie is an AMAZING public speaker, people! She shared the results of this survey and had people laughing and sometimes even gasping at [...]
