I’ve been wondering if/when this would happen — a major manufacturer offering digitally printed fabrics. German apparel fabrics company Hilco is the first I have known of. This print, Ink Rings, is on a viscose jersey knit and is sold through the Netherlands-based Jersey Fashion (who ships worldwide, for those of you looking for women’s [...]
From the looks of it, Hokkoh had a smaller booth set up this year (no samples), but the collections were strong and they brought with them a small rack of apparel fabric that I was going a bit crazy over. The apparel fabric was a bit of a test for them, and they were surprised [...]

These are beautiful, simple, easy, ultra-wearable geometrics and florals that can be used for all kinds of people projects — personally my favorite [...]
{ Folklore Fish interlock knit for Ikasyr } I found Finnish designer Hanna Ruusulampi through Spoonflower, which led me not only to her amazing online portfolio (see English version of the fabric portfolio here) but also to a treasure trove of Finnish fabric shops. Hanna designed the interlock knit design Folklore Fish for the shop/mini-manufacturer [...]
Australia’s Ink & Spindle have introduced a wonderful new hand screenprinted organic cotton jersey range, which includes their first kid-centric designs. They’ve also just announced some new designs and colorways for their wovens — pay a visit to their blog or shop to see!
Liberty of London‘s Spring 2011 collection of Tana Lawn prints is out. The prints were collaborations between Liberty’s Design Studio and British children’s book illustrators. One of the illustrators in Lauren Child, creator of the Charlie and Lola animated TV series. I love C&L not only for the writing, but because the charming collage-style animation [...]
Anna Ka Bazaar is an online shop based in France. They sell beautiful, simple clothing and textiles, toys, and accessories for babies, kids, and also carry gifts for moms. They also sell cotton fabrics by the meter that I’m assuming is custom-made for their product line. It looks like they ship worldwide too!

She recently went from teaching sewing classes at Atlanta’s Beehive Co-op to opening her own brick-and-mortar shop and sewing lounge (also called Whipstitch). For the locals [...]

Alexander Henry has always produced the most apparel-friendly prints in the business, so one of my questions for them was going to be “are you ever going to introduce some retail apparel fabrics?” But before I could open my mouth, Nicole laid out before me their brand new cotton lawn collection. People, this stuff is [...]
