Some fortuitous Pinteresting led me to fabrics by Jolby, a collaborative design and illustration studio in Portland, Oregon. They are printed by Spoonflower and available through Jolby’s Etsy shop along with their prints, paintings, mugs, and other miscellany.

It was clear that I had to post about Emily Isabella’s debut collection for Birch Fabrics today, because I couldn’t stop repeating “May Day! Yay Day!” in my head. Like all of Birch’s collections, Yay Day is printed on organic cotton. It’s available now at Fabricworm (from whence these pictures came) and other stockists. Go to Emily Isabella’s website and you’ll be led to her wallpaper and wall art that may tempt you to make a whole bedroom suite of it.

Knit Sampler and Cable Knit are the newest from Aunty Cookie (Shannon Lamden) in Australia, in yellows, greys, and blacks and hand printed on a (woven, not knit!) linen cotton. Read more about them on her blog and buy them on Etsy!

In the past it has been difficult to find out about new Japanese fabrics, but the web presence of the Japanese companies has really been increasing lately. Seven Islands, U.S. distributor for Kokka, Cosmo, Kiyohara, and more, has been on Facebook for a few months now, posting their new Japanese fabrics regularly. These are just some of my favorites plucked from the stream. They probably going to be shown at Spring Quilt Market (so I can get more details on the designers and basecloths) and available in stores soon after.

Arvidssons is another Swedish fabric company producing textiles in the great Scandinavian mod/supergraphics tradition. This third-generation family business has been in operation since 1949. You can keep up with each new season’s fabrics and products on their Facebook page, and buy them retail from The Swedish Fabric Company and Scandinavian Textiles on Etsy.

Bookhou is a small, family business in Toronto, Canada emphasizing slow design. Arounna Khounnoraj designs the textiles and she has a new collection available now, that was created and hand-screenprinted with her studio assistant. Each of these beautiful prints is available in several colorways. They are online now and also at the brick & mortar shop at 798 Dundas Street West in Toronto.

Anna Ka Bazaar has just launched its spring 2013 fabric collection, with lots of pink, rust, red, and teal. These easy, pretty prints are worth the shipping from France!
