Fall Quilt Market 2009: Kaffe Fassett Collective (And Giveaway)

kaffe collective quilt chair and samples

liza and kaffe

I had to laugh when I approached the Kaffe Fassett Collective booth this year: It was as if Liza Prior Lucy and Kaffe Fassett had stayed put right where I left them last year. Except that they had yet another amazing new quilt book, Quilt Romance, and a pile of captivating new prints to add to their ever-growing library. Kaffe was knitting with his own line of not-yet-available yarn (presumably from Rowan). Liza, Kaffe, and the charming Brandon Mably gushed over pictures of my son, which, even if they were just being polite, endeared them all to me even more.

Here are the new prints, available in December 2009, according to the Westminster website. I’m drawn most to the warm red/pink/orange palette, but I also couldn’t stop staring at those shells (by Phillip Jacobs).

Also exciting from the Kaffe Fassett world: He has teamed up with Liberty of London, applying his color genius to prints from the Liberty archives. This collection is all paisley, rendered in three palettes, and printed on a very high quality quilting cotton. There are more collections to come in the future, but Liza said they’re not necessarily centered on certain motifs like this one is.

A couple more pictures are in the Flickr set.

Westminster also recently launched a line of Lifestyle Products — totes, umbrellas, tableware, and reading glasses — they even have a die cutter coming out! I picked up a Kaffe Fassett drawstring backpack to give away today. Just leave a comment on this post and I’ll draw a winner next week, Wednesday, October 28, 2009, around 9am Central U.S. time. Here’s what it looks like when opened up and then cinched.
