Spring Quilt Market 2012: Cloud9 Fabrics

At each market the continuing growth of Cloud9 Fabrics is evident. I know to some it might seem like a small thing, but this was their first market with professionally made headers (swatches assembled on a hanger bound together up top with printed cardstock containing the collection’s vital stats) … and if there’s anything in this business to say that a company has Officially Arrived, it has to be that! Michelle Engel Bencsko’s and Gina Pantastico’s choices for licensees has been spot-on and has filled a niche that, at least from my perspective, was a big gaping hole in the market before they came along.
I think we’ve seen most of the future collections already, though perhaps only on paper — Simpatico, a basics collection; GeoCentric, on home dec-weight canvas; Seven Seas, Michéle Brummer Everett‘s adorable follow-up to her adorable Monsterz; Hey, That’s Swell! by June Craft. The quilts and other projects got me even more excited about them.
They did announce two brand-new collections: Nursery Flannel, their second flannel collection, featuring the elephants and birds from My Happy Nursery; and … drum roll … the second Ed Emberley collection, Happy Drawing Too, with more creatures from Drawing Book of Animals.

Hooray! Glad to see that Cloud 9 has “arrived”! Simpatico looks stunning! Perfect for baby quilts and much more!
Where’s the sweet little dress pattern from, anyone know??
I love the Simpatico range, and Ed Emberley, lord of the thumbprint!
