Spring Quilt Market 2012: Blend Fabrics
This week I’m going to show the latter half of Lauren‘s quilt market photos — don’t think of it as late, think of it as spreading out the goodness over a longer period of time! Blend, as you know, is the (more) modern brand that branched out from Anna Griffin‘s fabric company, which is also relatively new to the scene. And already Blend has an impressive designer roster, a great mix of surface design industry veterans, some new to the fabric world.
Josephine Kimberling, formerly with Robert Kaufman, was at Quilt Market for the first time to launch her new partnership with Blend. Her Hope Chest is a mix of trendy needlepoint, lace, and geometric motifs and the fantastic, imaginative florals for which she is known. It’s new in stores now.
Blend featured at least a dozen new collections, some with the full “fabric ladder” treatment and some, further off in the future, just on headers or in their catalog. There’s a nice diverse mix of artists here so you’re sure to find a collection that speaks to you. The rundown:
Bella by Amanda Murphy - September 2012
Spring Promise by Ana Davis – out now
Beauty Is You by Cori Dantini – out now
Molokai by Jessica Swift – Out Now
Crabtastic by Maude Asbury – out now
Magic Garden by Sabine Reinhart – out now
Cushion & Dust by Sarah Watts – September 2012
Alchemy by Shell Rummell – out this month
Kids’ collections:
Babysaurus by Little Yellow Bicycle
Animal Parade by Ana Davis – August 2012
