Fall Quilt Market 2012: Michael Miller – Patty Young

Patty Young introduced her new line of quilting cotton called Textured Basics. While it is quilting cotton in terms of weight and feel, the fabric is overprinted with faux texture that makes the fabric look like a canvas. Tricky, tricky.  The faux texture creates the illusion of an added dimension on the surface of the fabric (you can see it most clearly in the picture below). Textured Basics will be available starting in November. In the spirit of “keep it simple” that permeated this market, Patty Young is also introducing a line of Micro Mini patterns — easy, compact, inexpensive, useful, and tempting impulse buys for retailers to place by their registers.
