Fall Quilt Market 2012: Michael Miller – Basics and Brights

It’s the economy, it’s the modern quilt movement, it’s the trend … whether it’s one of these or all of these things, the theme of this market was definitely Back to Basics. Several companies emphasized solids and versatile basics, and just the pure joy of color color color. Having fabrics with longer shelf lives is not only for the manufacturer’s benefit — it’s something I often hear retailers, designers, and consumers wishing for these days. Michael Miller’s variation on this theme was a happy and bright one, with some trendy 80s throwback neons thrown in. The larger-scale prints inĀ Lavinia and Coco Cabana are a nod to classic home decor motifs.

{ Difficult to make the colors pop in the photos, but … NEON! }
