Fall Quilt Market 2012: Kaffe Fassett

Kaffe Fassett is still my favourite fabric designer. For me his stuff just never gets old. I would never use it all together in one quilt but using small pieces here and there and mixing them with the other things in my stash makes my quilts sparkle. Enough of my gushing – his fall release range is 28 pieces, along with some re-colourations of  older designs including my favourite print, August Rose.

The booth as usual was a colour explosion – quilts, fabrics, books, charm squares and ribbons stacked and layered everywhere. Kaffe’s two new books, Kaffe Quilts Again and his autobiography, Dreaming in Colour, were displayed as well as flyers for his and Liza Prior Lucy’s upcoming book Shots and Stripes, a book written entirely on using his shot cottons and woven stripe fabrics.

Australian quilter and fabric designer Sarah Fielke is the author of several books and is a world-traveling teacher. Amy Lobsiger is a talented quilter and writer of the blog Mrs. Schmenkman Quilts.
