Here’s another fun fabric design contest, and I want a True Up reader to win! Spoonflower and Robert Kaufman Fabrics have teamed up for Fabric 8. They’re looking to glorify eight of the world’s best amateur textile designers, and one of those eight will go on to receive $1000, a design contract with Robert Kaufman Fabrics, a professional-quality Wacom digital drawing tablet, and $250 in custom fabric printed by Spoonflower.
I love the theme of the contest: pen and ink + watercolor. They’ve got a Pinterest board of inspiration working.
The open submissions period lasts through April 24, 2012. The entire pool of submissions will be whittled down to 100 by RK and Spoonflower. From there, YOUR vote will help determine the final 8, who will be asked to design a collection around their winning design. From there, your votes come in again to determine the ultimate winner. Final voting on the eight collections will begin on June 7, 2012, with the winner announced a week later.
Best of luck! Since creating these type of designs can be tricky, perhaps we should start a forum topic to help out if you run into any problems?
