I was getting a bit giddy knowing I was going to get to see a lot of Japanese companies at Market. Now that these companies are procuring US distribution and attending trade shows like Market, they are a lot easier to find. Still — there’s nothing like thumbing through stacks of textiles that I am usually only able to see online.
Yuwa Shoten (which includes Kei) have put out some fantastic repro florals in the past, and I was not disappointed. All of these prints come from the “petit joli” and “la vie en rose” collections and were printed on quilt-weight and lightweight cotton. I want to re-sew my wardrobe in nearly everything we looked at.
Orders from Quilt Market will be arriving in the U.S. in late July.
