Spring Quilt Market 2011: Kokka/Seven Islands

Seven Islands is the U.S. distributor of Kokka fabric and other Japanese fabrics and notions.

They were showing the new colors and patterns of Echino, which includes some favorite patterns in new colors:

Some of the patterns are available on a woven nylon substrate, which would be great for bags or raincoats.

Melody Miller‘s new line, Ruby Star Spring, was also on display.

Here are some Kokka’s new prints designed in-house.

They also showed me some apparel fabrics, including some lovely Nani Iro double gauze and pointelle knits. These fabrics can be a bit harder to find in the states, so I am hoping they sold well at market.

Kokka was also showing the Captain 88 line of notions, which includes 100% cotton piping, bias tape, and other trims. It can be very hard to find 100% cotton piping and bias tape in the states, so I am hoping these also did well!
