Spring Quilt Market 2011: Clothworks
The Clothworks booth really caught my eye. They were one of the few booths to showcase a modern, all solids, quilt and that choice allowed their organic solids to shine (ETA: Lizzy pointed out that this is her mom Cherry House‘s City Scapes pattern … thanks Lizzy!)
Clothworks’ Everyday Organic Solids are 100% GOTS certified and come in seven bright, saturated colors.
The solids, along with a print collection, will ship in August.
The organic prints were designed by Alyssa Thomas of Penguin & Fish and are very cute. Alyssa did an amazing job of translating her embroidery designs into fabric.
Penguin and Fish also had a booth of their own. The embroidered pillows were particularly charming — Alyssa said that she blew up the embroidery designs on a copy machine and used yarn instead of embroidery thread. So clever!
Clothworks had some other great lines as well.

Finally, Clothworks has some fabrics both designed and produced in Japan. As a bonus, these will retail at a price point similar to the usual price point — no import premium. The lines include wovens and prints of classic Japanese embroidery.
All the above fabrics ship in July or August.

Love those Penguin and Fish embroidered pillows!
The first quilt in the organics is my Mom’s CityScapes quilt pattern!
Thanks for the preview! Now I’m wanting to stop by their warehouse and it’s only 15 minutes away from me!
