Marie Jacobi

German designer Marie Jacobi‘s Berlin Map collection for Yuwa gets the prize for being the collection from Fall Quilt Market 2010 that I’ve received the most email about. People wanted to know when it was coming out and where they could find it, but I didn’t know … until now! Superbuzzy has it in, along with a second collection called Stern. It features owls, girls, bows, shoes, sunglasses, purses, headbands, and a sprinkle of glitter.

The number and magnitude of natural disasters lately has been really frightening — Haiti, Chile, Australia, New Zealand, and now Japan. I’m sitting comfortably here at my computer, trying to picture what it would be like to have a terrifying earthquake then having but two minutes to escape something like this. Of course I only have to picture it and feel sick to my stomach, while millions of people are suffering unimaginable loss. It’s hard to know what to do, but Weeks at Craft Nectar points us to the Red Cross and this list of relief organizations. As an individual you might feel insignificant in the face of disasters like this, like giving your measly $10 or whatever amounts to nothing, but it really does help.

I loved those map prints when you first posted them, Kim, but I had no idea it was in such high demand. Thanks so much for following up on where to get them!:)
