Tula Pink: Prince Charming

Tula Pink has revealed her second collection for FreeSpirit, Prince Charming. As you probably know, Ms. Pink is the master of (well, all things involved in fabric design but also) hidden pictures. With each new collection it’s so cool to see the new ways she’s dreamt up to commingle traditional patterns (scales, hexagons, ogees, etc.) with her wild characters. Here we’ve got a damask-y Frog Prince (see the fly in the belly? and the four frog legs?), and I just noticed that the tonal toile has a huge turtle in there! I’m still trying to figure out what’s going on with the scales — all I can tell is that it involves antennae. I also love the coordinates — big fat raindrops and and mesmerizing geometric symbols sprinkled amongst flowers and butterflies. That must be what the Frog Prince sees after he gets kissed? If her booth for Parisville last Fall is any indication, you’ll get the full story, and love the collection even more, after getting the Tula Pink Experience at Spring Market (and I’ll be doing my damnedest to share pictures here!).

Oh. Also? Voile! Laminates! What are you going to make with those?

WOW! Love this so much, and love the hide-n-seek fun Tula puts in her artwork. I actually had to stop myself from touching my monitor for the fan print – Iove how it looks like it had texture.

I like Tula Pink’s new line so much better than the last one! Of course, that’s probably because I like turtles :D
