Melody Miller has announced her second collection for Kokka, Ruby Star Spring, to be introduced at the Spring Quilt Market and available retail shortly thereafter. It’s a compact collection, three prints (Bee, Bloom, and Buzz) in three colorways apiece, and has the most wonderful colors and — my favorite! — pixels! Bee and Buzz have several prints-within-the-larger-print, which I love. As she writes on her blog, Kokka asked her to follow the Echino model, to have one distinct stylistic look for fall and one for spring. Though quite different from Ruby Star Rising, her smash hit debut collection, Ruby Star Spring will also be on a cotton-linen blend (great for just about any project you can imagine), and it’s still all Melody! Edited to add: Ruby Star Spring will actually be on a different cotton-linen blend, a bit lighter in weight so it’s more suitable for apparel than the cotton-linen from Kokka that we already know. And — bonus — it will be 62″ wide!
Melody will be having a busy month — she’s also be exhibiting at Surtex in NYC, May 15-17. Wouldn’t you love to see the rest of her portfolio?
