Liberty Spring 2011

Liberty of London‘s Spring 2011 collection of Tana Lawn prints is out. The prints were collaborations between Liberty’s Design Studio and British children’s book illustrators. One of the illustrators in Lauren Child, creator of the Charlie and Lola animated TV series. I love C&L not only for the writing, but because the charming collage-style animation incorporates lots of vintage textiles.

The other artists are Brian Wildsmith, David McKee (Elmer the Patchwork Elephant), Emma Chichester Clark, Jane Ray, Quentin Blake (who illustrated Roald Dahl’s books), and Sally Haysom. Three prints were designed by “four young protégés of the Liberty Design Studio” in honor of Hello Kitty.

I should have put the swatches in order by designer, but I put them in alphabetical order instead … oops! All the more reason for you to visit the Liberty site and see all the colorways of each print.

  3. I was so excited to see Quentin Blake on the list, as I am a huuge Roald Dahl fan. I immediately added that on my order! Have you seen the Quentin Blake designer fabrics and wallpaper for Osborne and Little? It’s great.
