Hamburger Liebe: My Aunties and Life Is Sweet

Susanne Firmenich (aka Hamburger Liebe)’s designs have been featured before as the Digital Fabric of the Week and as part of Farbenmix’s first collection. She’s recently added two new collections for sale on Spoonflower which I wanted to share with you today.

First is My Aunties, which Susanne says is “a collection of vintage designs … inspirated by the lives and garments of my female relatives like my grannies and numerous aunts. A lot of them lived in the countryside and colors and patterns of the region in the south of Germany shaped my image of a life down to earth which is closely linked to tradition and nature. ”

And next is Life Is Sweet, which Susanne says is self-explanatory!

Susanne told me she dreams of getting a call from a big fabric company to license her designs. I think she’s fantastic, of course, and she was the #2 indie designer on Spoonflower in 2010 (#1 was Heather Ross), so if any of you companies are reading, give her a ring! Well, we don’t want to give phone numbers out on the internet, but here is her blog and Facebook page.

Those are adorable! I wish I was part of a big fabric manufacturing company so I could give her a call and distribute her fabrics! Wouldn’t that be fun?
