Meet Me in Minneapolis!

Everyone is gearing up for Spring Quilt Market this week in Minneapolis, Minnesota. If you’re attending, or are a Twin Cities local who just likes fabric and sewing, here are two open-to-the-public events to which you’re invited!

1. The now-traditional Fabric 2.0 party. We don’t even have to call it “2.faux” like last Spring because the original hostess, Caroline Devoy, is coming and has given her blessing to use the name! This gathering will be at the Millennium Hotel bar, Martini’s, on Thursday, May 20, from 7-11pm. The Millennium is apparently attached to the convention center, so it will be easy to hop over to Sample Spree and come back later, unless you are trampled there. Feel free to spread the word!

2. One of the must-see destinations for textile fans visiting Minneapolis is The Textile Center, which is about a 10 minute drive from the Convention Center. Here’s (I hope) a very good excuse to go! I will be speaking there Saturday evening, May 22, 7pm, about fabric trends and about blogging for a living. Please come, it’s sure to be a good time, and maybe we can go out to a good dinner afterwards! Huge thanks to Faye Hoch of Get in Line Quilting Services, the Women’s Art Registry of Minnesota (WARM), and the Textile Center for organizing this. Here is a pdf flyer for the event.

Nice talk this evening. ‘Twas a pleasure to meet you!
