Spring Quilt Market 2010: The Society Page

It took forever, but that about does it for fabric previews from Spring Quilt Market 2010. Phew! But Quilt Market is all about hanging out with friends, putting names to faces, and making devious plans. Once again I suffered from fabric tunnel vision when it came to taking pictures, but here are some of my favorite people shots.

Me With the Westminster Allstars!

Well what do we have here? It’s me with the Freespirit/Westminster Allstars — that’s Valori Wells on the left, then me, then Tina Givens, and Amy Butler. I really felt like I’d arrived!

I love this picture! That’s Scott Hansen of Blue Nickel Studios on the left, and John Adams of Quilt Dad and Fat Quarterly. Just Chillin on Anna Maria’s couch.

Yes, there are dudes at Quilt Market. Here’s a third — Joel Dewberry, fresh from signing his new book Joel Dewberry’s Sewn Spaces.

Here are Erin McMorris and Lizzy House shaking on some devious plan they just made. OK, this was their first meeting but it LOOKED like they were shaking on a devious plan, and then I forced them to them awkwardly re-create the moment. Sorry! I love you ladies!

Here is a little more than half of the lovely Long ladies of a href=”http://www.mariemadelinestudio.com/”>Marie-Madeline Studio, who I ran into in the aisles. They really are just as radiant as they seem from their blog! I just love this part about Quilt Market — meeting people with whom I’ve only corresponded via email over the years. If only there was enough time (not to mention food options) to sit down and break bread with everyone!

I was so delirious from my 3am wakeup to travel to Minneapolis that I only eeked out one picture at the Fabric 2.0 party that night. It’s Sarah and Jocelyn from the Fat Quarter Shop, who had to leave too soon to do their own (amazing) reportage for the Jolly Jabber.

On Sunday, my market buddy Melissa Averinos signed her new book Small Stash Sewing. It was a HUGE crowd! Read her own quilt market posts starting here with her envy-enducing B&B. Can’t wait to see her new fabric collection with Andover!

Great series, Kim! Thanks so much. I didn’t make it to Quilt Market, so it was fun to live vicariously through your reports.
