Spring Quilt Market 2010 – Moda – Bonnie & Camille

Bonnie & Camille are a mother-daughter design team — Bonnie (mom) lives in Idaho and has been running her quilting pattern design company, Cotton Way, since 1990. Camille Roskelley (daughter) lives in Las Vegas, and has been running her pattern company, Thimble Blossoms, since 2007. Looking through their websites you can see that though they serve different markets, they influence one another — and both their voices come together in their fabric designs. And the results are kind of perfect, don’t you think? Their fabric design careers began with Simple Abundance for Moda, then later Cotton Blossoms. Their Fall 2010 collection, Bliss, continues their traditional-meets-modern aesthetic in a palette of pink, red, greens, sky blue, and brown. These fabrics would work for Christmas projects yet still not look Christmasy once the season has passed — I think that’s kind of a cool feat!

Here are some inspirational shots from around their booth — I didn’t get the names of these quilts, sorry!, but I’m quite taken by them so I’ll be poking around Cotton Way and Thimble Blossoms to find out more. Look for Camille’s first quilting book, Simplify with Camille Roskelley: Quilts for the Modern Home, this fall as well.
