Fall Quilt Market 2010 – Timeless Treasures
As we saw in the Alice Kennedy post, Timeless Treasures is getting in on the trend of new substrates. In addition to laminates and home dec weight cotton, they’re also introducing their first cotton lawn collection, Darling Clementine. It is arriving in stores now — Pink Chalk Fabrics was the first to get it. Though lawn is ideal for apparel, it is a truly multifunctional fabric — if you could touch this quilt you’d be convinced!
I’m also really excited about Molly, which comes in regular quilting cotton and flannel. It’s available in stores now.
Parisian themes and styles was a big trend this market. Of course Paris and vintage/antique French design is one of those perennial themes, so maybe I’d call it a convergence or coincidence that so many companies had some take on Paris at this Market. Timeless Treasures had April in Paris, a colorful shopping-themed print with vintage pinup gals mixed with a variety of black-and-white prints.
Also in the city-themed arena, a group of New York-themed prints, including the incredible semi-photorealistic cityscape in two colorways. These kind of prints always remind me (in a good way) of 70s polyester shirts.
