Woohoo! Though by popular demand (OK, Sew, Mama, Sew!‘s nudge on Twitter), I’m excited to bring you Kokka day! At this market Kokka featured two new designers — Melody Miller, whom you’ve met on these pages before (of course she’s coming up next!), and Yoshie Milk, whom I’d never heard of before, but I was delighted with her collection. She is a Japanese artist who works in several media including fabric collage. And just look how beautiful she is! The fabric designs are a sweet mishmash of motifs — chickens, kids, parading people, playing card symbols, and collage-y graphic florals, and the collection includes a mishmash of basecloths — double gauze, cotton linen, a heavier cotton (oxford or canvas, I’m not sure), and laminates.
Not sure when these are out — but if I recall correctly, if Kokka is showing something at Market, it means it’s already out or coming very soon.
