Fall Quilt Market 2010 – Kokka – Melody Miller

Ruby Star Rising

It’s been a long road for Melody Miller, but her first fabric collection is finally seeing the light of day! Her vintage catalog-inspired Ruby Star Rising display felt extra triumphant and sparkly and awesome. Like Melody, old department store catalogs are a huge source of entertainment and inspiration for me (once upon a time had a brief spike of internet fame for this), so this collection is right up my alley.

The prints are like nothing else out there, so it’s extra important for people to see them in action. Melody, Allison, and everyone who pitched in last minute to help with the eleventh-hour fabric arrival did a bang-up job. The big vintage buttons on the bags are so perfect. I just love it all and can’t wait to get it!

I didn’t get shots of the individual prints, but you can see most of them here.

Kim! What a fantastic write up! Thank you thank you thank you for all the fabric love! With friends like you, we can’t go wrong! And you were super kind to link my humble little shop, that I have no time to work anymore! That Melody is a slave driver, I tell you…

We really appreciate your time, and work, and support…until another market,

Melody and her fabric was my big Most Amazing Moment at Market. No one, especially me… could stop talking about how madly in love we all are with Melody’s fabric line. And that Melody is as cute as button… that was gravy. (subliminal wish list for something in Melody’s next line… gravy boats)

If market had a prom queen… hands down it would be Melody!

I’m not sure there is going to be any of this fabric left for my customers, as I have quite a few projects planned. (Most excited to make a View Master skirt!) Their success at market couldn’t have happened to nicer people!

  8. Beth says:

Melody is just as fabulous as her fabric! Can’t wait!

I really do love these fabrics! And the women remind me of my mom, which makes it even better!

  10. All your Quilt Market write ups are brilliant!

Melody sent me a little package of scraps which I’m sharing in a pay it forward giveaway if you’re interested – ends Nov 24th
