In case you hadn’t heard, ex-Trading Spaces carpenter-turned-Extreme Home Makeover host Ty Pennington is designing fabrics for Westminster! He already has a line of home textiles and accessories for Sears, so this is a natural extension of his growing interior design brand. This first collection is called Impressions.
Obviously, this photo isn’t Ty! Unfortunately, I missed seeing him in person, but here is Tula Pink, Anna Maria Horner, and Westminster Fibers’ Leann Spadaro (in an AMH Socialite Dress made in Phillip Jacobs fabric!) hanging in Ty’s booth as the show wound down. I wish I had gotten the cardboard cutout of Ty in there … well, maybe you all can get your Fark on and Photoshop him in for me?
Or just enjoy the hunky/talented guy press photo.
Seriously though, I impressed with Impressions. Ty took inspiration from his travels ’round the world (I’m seeing a lot of Indonesia here) and created a collection of designs for block printing, which were then transformed into repeats for volume production. As you can see, many of the prints retain that irregular, block-printed look.
Impressions is primarily a home dec-weight cotton collection, with 4 simple yet modern colorways, totaling 50 prints. There are also some laminates and quilting cottons, which you can see at the very end of the post.
I’m not sure when Impressions will be arriving in stores, but as always, I’ll let you know when I find out.
(My favorite print by far!)
