Japanese Fabric of the Week: Wa-Modern by Hokkoh

Hokkoh Wa-Modern

At Quilt Market this spring, the folks at Hokkoh described their collection Wa-Modern (it may also be listed as Wa-Nouveau, if you’re Googling) as traditional Japanese motifs made modern. I only got to see little swatches of it at that time, and of course it’s even more spectacular as yardage. Thanks to Portland’s Bolt Fabric Boutique for sharing their photo!

I LOVE this line but haven’t been able to find it anywhere. I need those stripes in my life! haha

  2. I am loving this! Stumbled across some Japanese fabric while in Germany a while back, and have been a convert ever since – great stuff!

They really are amazing fabrics, and to help you find more of it, the third and fifth fabrics from the left in the pic. are from the Hokkoh ‘Forest’ line. ‘Apple Tree’(not pictured) made quite a splash on the blogs during spring’s Quilt Market.
