Japanese Fabric of the Week: Alain Grée

Alain Grée is a French illustrator and graphic designer who published hundreds of children’s books and a dozen or so board games in the 1960s-70s. Learn and see more about Grée on his official website. His work is enjoying a resurgence today, especially in Japan and France. I’m not sure who licensed his designs for this fabric (medium-weight cotton, though it looks like canvas from the photos) but if you search for his name you should be able to locate it. It features one of his popular characters, Pilou. I spotted it at Japan Kawaii Ya on Etsy and at Superbuzzy.
