Preview: Shades of Grey by Daisy Janie
Jan Dicintio of Daisy Janie gets the prize for being the first entry in the “Fabrics 2011″ category! She also gets the prize for producing the first all-grey fabric collection (at least that I know of). Risky? Maybe, but I can’t get enough grey fabrics, and I think there are plenty of people who feel the same way. The 100% organic Shades of Grey is scheduled to ship in January 2011. She’s taking wholesale pre-orders now.

It is so hard to find grey fabrics! I’m doing Oh Fransson!’s Tokyo Subway Quilt-Along … I didn’t have any grey fabrics in my stash, and my LQSs had very few. I barely have enough variety for the quilt … This line is great!
I’m dying over that stripe in the upper left corner. Love love love.
I need this fabric now! I’m with Paula on the Tokyo quilt and can’t start yet because I only had one yucky grey. 3 quilt stores in my area had nothing, off to another tomorrow!
I love this line! Do we really have to wait til 2011?
I really like gray (it’s so soothing to me) and have always wondered why more wasn’t done with that color! I think this line is brilliant and will set a trend!
Not only are the shades of gray beautiful in this line, but the designs are just perfect. She nailed it with this line! 
Love the grays – it is one of my favorite colors to put in a quilt and one of the most difficult to find.

I’m with the others on how hard it is to find a cute gray fabric!! I designed a quilt with a roly poly in it & it took me WEEKS to find the right grays for it. WEEKS!
I’m so glad more grey is being made! I have been searching high and low for grey fabrics and they are so hard to come by!!! Can’t wait.

Whole-heartedly agree with all the comments about scarcity of grey. In fact today went in search of plain grey – nothing! Found some nice grey and black and white but I had to look really hard. I love grey – it really brings out clear colours like tangerine, pink, light green and blue. This is a lovely collection!
I agree! Grey seems to be rare and I’m dying to do a pink and grey or aqua and grey quilt and nice greys are really hard to come by. Love this collection and an’t wait till it comes out. I was never a fan of the brown with pink or blue or green that has been popular for so long. Bring on the greys!!!
