Author Introduction: Mary Beth

Thought I’d pop in and (re-)introduce myself — you’ll be seeing more contributions from me here on True Up, and some people like to know who it is what’s talkin’ to ‘em. So hello! I’m Mary Beth.

When last we spoke, I was waxing rhapsodic about my Quilt Market fabricoma and giving you peeks at upcoming fabric lines. I may have intimated that I was going to propose to Amy Butler. And I very likely said something about Kokka that involved the words “drool” and “rouse me if my head hits the floor.”

So. To tell you a little about myself: I’m a self-taught sewing enthusiast; I adore thrift stores; I feel a special affinity for vintage fabric that looks like it came from your mother’s linen closet; and I play fast and loose when it comes to tea. (I don’t even know what that means. I like tea. I might be drinking some right now. That is all.)

(I should also tell you that I may have a parenthetical addiction. I am trying to quit.)

So. I should also tell you that I say “so” a lot. Just so’s you’re warned.

  1. Hi Mary Beth!

I thoroughly enjoyed your coverage of Quilt Market and look forward to reading more from you.
I’m of the self-taught sewist variety, too. And have a stack of “for personal use only” items to prove it. :)

    Hi Mary Beth!!
Thanks for the re-introduction. If you want to hear something, smalltimore, if you will, we knew each other back in that lovely town. Well, kinda, My husband, Mike, hosted the flickr show at Hampdenfest a few years back. You all also did some other flickr shows (Holy Frijoles and such). I had been following this blog for awhile. So random when you popped up for the Quilt Market posts, however, much appreciated. Any how, I just wanted to say “hey” and let you know that little factoid. and I’m watching you, well, reading your posts. ;) Take Care
