Spring Quilt Market 2009: Moda
This post is part of a series reporting on the Spring 2009 International Quilt Market by True Up East Coast Stringer Mary Beth of Supafine.
Oh, Moda. If Quilt Market was a cafeteria, you’d be the cheerleaders’ table.
Everyone wanted a piece of Moda — at the sample sale, their table was three people deep; at Quilt Market, their booths were swamped. Fortunately for us standing in the back, it was all so very pretty:
Tula Pink’s new line, Hushabye, will come out in August. Here it is made up here in one of her new quilt patterns.
See more Hushabye here or here (PDF)
Joanna Figueroa‘s Fig Tree & Co. has a new line of fabric coming out in September called Mill House Inn, shown here:
… the inspiration for which came from the colors and gardens of the Cotswolds. Joanna is also releasing new quilt patterns from precuts and sewing patterns under the label Fig Tree Threads.
See more Mill House Inn here or here (PDF).
Remember when newsprint fabric was all the rage on the craft blogs a few years ago? It was killer hard to find but it looked so good. Now’s your chance to find it again, in Sweetwater’s new Authentic collection.
Black and white and celery all over: what a skillfully restrained palette. See more Authentic here or here.
Coming in September is Bonnie and Camille‘s Simple Abundance, shown here made up in a great pair of quilts. I love these colors on white.
More Simple Abundance here and here (PDF).
How about a little something for the boys? Happy Campers, by American Jane:
Of course there’s the much-talked-about Rouenneries, by French General‘s Kaari Meng, coming in October:
See more Rouenneries here or here (PDF).
And lastly, a few snaps from the Moda Home booth, in all its lovely retro glory.
In sum? YUM.
(Thanks to this great tip about Moda’s digital swatch offerings)

Love all of these pics…especially the close ups of Simple Abundance…gorgeous! Thanks so much!
Can anyone tell me where to purchase this fantastic Moda Home stuff??!!
I have just discovered it in the past few days.
Thanks!
Those Simple Abundance quilts are just beautiful.
I second Sarah’s request. I love those towel, but can’t find anything like that online. The camping line is super cute.
Moda Home has a shop locator on their web site, and this is an online shop I turned up in a search that advertises selling the whole collection.
I knew there was going to be a simple answer and I would end up looking foolish. Thanks Mary Beth!
