Fall Quilt Market 2010: della Q

checksandstripes

You may remember della Q from our interview earlier this year and Silk Series post on working with silk taffeta. Unfortunately I didn’t get to meet Della in person, as she was in London, but I got to meet her lovely assistant, but failed to write down her name! So sorry!

I got to visit the pillow I made and see some other amazing silk projects. The embroidered pillow below is gorgeous, don’t you think? (There’s mine behind it)

I’d never thought of quilting silk. It looks fantastic.

And here’s the famous Oliver + S Jump Rope dress!

  1. I adore silk in so many ways, but quilted silk makes me swoon!

I love that cute little shirt dress; how lovely!

  2. Becky says:

I have never used silk when quilting but was given a couple of once gorgeous silk quilts. There are tiny pieces and parts I could use again but sadly most of the silk has just – poof! – disintegrated.

  3. Nan Jaeger says:

Those old silk crazy quilts with the to-die-for feather stitching must have cost a fortune to make. But boy are they yummy!
