I didn’t manage to see Moda‘s new fabric collections by themselves at this market, but we can get a good idea of what’s on the horizon from the quilts they had on display.
Lauren and Jessi Jung are a daughter and mother team, living in Philadelphia and Spartanburg, SC (respectively). This is their debut fabric collection, called Botany. They have a beautiful and interesting website (with six free dowloadable patterns already!) and blog. Not sure when Botany will be available — early 2010, I’m thinking!
American Jane‘s Sandy Klop is taking a surprising turn with her next collection to antique French Provincial reproductions. It’s cool to see these colors and designs worked into American Jane’s signature vintage quilt designs.
The next Howard Marcus Collection for a Cause is this lovely mixture of orange and brown. I love this quilt. Please give it to me.
I got to meet Joanna Figueroa of Fig Tree & Co. right as Quilt Market was shutting down. After four days of constant talking my voice made me sound like a chain smoker, and hers was almost gone altogether! Her newest is called Whimsy — technically a kid’s line but only two of the prints are overtly kid-themed … the rest are ageless, and the Whimsy colors integrate perfectly into the signature Fig Tree palette. Joanna is also introducing a collection of high-quality snuggle fabrics. Can you believe how beautifully they quilt up?
Chez Moi’s next collection, which will be available this December, is called Boutique. That landscape print in the center of the quilt really caught my eye.
