Art Gallery Fabrics unveiled three new collections and some impressive new patterns at kits at this Quilt Market. Art Gallery designer/owner Patricia Bravo announced one collection, Naturella, just a couple weeks ago. Here are the two others, Filigree (above, in its two colorways; Blush and Fresh) I was fixated on the art nouveau-inspired peacock-feather-like “Plants” print paired with “Telkari,” which is another word for filigree — but I think Patricia told me the motif was drawn from some kind of mollusk or other sea critter.
“Tender Sprouts” (above) is also very pretty! Filigree will be out in January 2010.
The other new Spring 2010 collection, to be released February 2010, is Sugar. The colorways are Fruity Sherbet (top) and Creamy Gelato (bottom).
Also new at this Market: a Pat Bravo palette of of Signature Threads …
… which are included in her new purse kits. These kits have everything you need to make the pattern — the fabric, thread, zipper, cording, pattern, even the brooch. Patricia was very proud of design of the patterns themselves, and for good reason: every single step had a clear diagram and definitions of sewing terms (e.g. backstitch) were included inline, but in different color so experienced sewists could easily skip them. Seriously amazing work.
I have pictures of Patricia and I together, but they were taken at the very end of the day and I was looking pretty haggard! But I have them on Flickr, if you insist.
