Fall Quilt Market 2009: Alexander Henry Part II: Home Dec & Another Featured Collection

In addition to the Ghastlies, Alexander Henry was also featuring the stunning “multi-ethic” collection Zanzabelle. Nicole (the sister half of the siblings) created this one, if I remember correctly. The pattern fills in the animals are so cool. Hand-rendered designs are becoming more of a rarity amongst contemporary fabrics, and they make it look so easy.

This will be a spring 2010 delivery. Want some AH goodness now? You can pick up+ several of their most popular prints in a heavier weight home dec cotton oxford; part of their Fashion for Home line. These are 45″ wide (“narrow goods”) so that fabric shops set up for bolts can easily incorporate them into their inventory.

    I am struck that the Zanzibelle fabric at the top of the post reminds me of the Echino line–the energy of the patterns of the fill, the fearless, unreal way the animals appear in the grouping–not a copy in any way, but an “echo” of Echino.
