May Giveaway Day: Happy Scraps
We interrupt this Spring Quilt Market coverage to bring you Sew, Mama, Sew!’s May Giveaway Day! If you don’t know what I’m talking about, follow the link and get lost in hundreds of giveaways from crafty blogs worldwide.
I recently realized most of my giveaways on this site have been books and gift certificates — what kind of self-respecting fabric blog am I? We need some free fabric here. So I did what I’ve been meaning to do for a long time: reduce my overflowing scrap bins.
I made up eight packs, separated by color. And one pack of dots. There is vintage mixed with new in each pack, mostly quilting cottons, but also a few blends, linens, and corduroy pieces. They range from tiny, odd shapes to fat quarters. I had lots of blues so there are two of those.
The Rules! To be eligible to win a scrap pack, please leave a comment here and specify your favorite pack: pink, orange/yellow, greens, blues, purple, brown, dots. What I’m going to do is generate a random number list, and go down the list to pick the first person who specified each pack. So if you don’t say which one you like best, you’ll be skipped over!
As per Sew, Mama, Sew!’s suggestion, the comments will be open through Sunday, May 31, 2009 (10pm Central U.S. time). This drawing is open to anyone in the world. Good luck!
Oh and P.S., sorry for the poor lighting in the photos, we seem to be having a monsoon here in Austin today.

Blue! Oh my gosh–this is awesome!
Wow, this is a much harder assignment than I thought. Pick only one! eep. This is why I’m a buffet girl, because choosing is HARD. Ok. I’m going to go Blue. Preferably the one with the spacemen fabric in it. I have a baby boy, and his papa loves all things sci fi, so we need spaceman fabric.
I’m gonna have to go with browns! The yellow/orange would be my second choice…
