Giveaway: This and That From Japan
This and That From Japan on Etsy offers a wonderful range of Japanese fabrics and craft supplies, straight from Japan! Owner Lisa, an expatriate originally from Hawaii, provides a one-stop shop for designer Japanese fabrics (like Shinzi Katoh, Decole, and Cozy Tomato), Sanrio character fabrics, and cotton and cotton-linen blend prints from Kokka and other manufacturers.
Lisa is offering three $25 gift certificates that can be used to buy fabrics from her cotton and cotton linen blend sections. To enter, visit her shop, then come back here and leave a comment letting us know your favorite fabric you saw there. The comments will be closed one week from today, Monday, Feb. 23 at noon CST, and afterwards Lisa will choose the three winners and set them up with their prize.

Lisa also provides a special shipping rate for large orders (from small businesses, sewing groups, or individuals) of $30 for about four pounds of fabric. The yardage just depends on the weight of the fabric but she has sent up to 13 yards of fabric this way. Again, complete the checkout process with Etsy but don’t pay, and note “Special Shipping” in the “notes to seller” box and she will send a new invoice. She will also let you know how much fabric you can add to make maximum use of the weight.

Pandas and pigs – that’s my favorite!
I love the Colorful Turtles in pink, purple, aqua. The cars, cars, cars fabric is also adorable.
I absolutely adore the “Animals in the Woods” prints… and one of them has a *pink* background. Fabulous. (As is the brown matryoshka print, but I only get to pick one favorite!)
They are all adorable, but I think the “Colorful Robots–Blue” is my very favorite.

My favorite of the cotton fabric (I sort of got happily overwhelmed and have only looked through that section so far) is either Banzai Pigs (my daughter would LOVE that, omg) or the “Flower Lines” in pink, which makes me think of spring. I can’t decide which comes out on top.

The hedgehogs were sooo tempting, but living in DC and following all the adventures of Tai Shan, I had to go with the panda fabric.
Growing up in Japan, I have a special love for the Sanrio fabrics especially “Hello Kitty”. For some reason though I really love the hedgehog fabrics!

What a great selection to choose from! I have to go with Hippos, Zebras, and Elephants – Blues though, because it reminded me of a baby bedroom, and those little animals in that color palette are so graphic.

I was going to say, Go For A Walk, because it would make awesome floor pillows for a kid’s room. But then I saw Cats in the Ocean and Underwater, which are just hilarious. How do people come up with this stuff?

How come? My husband & I chose butterflies as our theme for our wedding in August of 2007. My MIL and I ended up folding over 1000 origami butterflies to hang over our heads during the ceremony.
Even after folding that many butterflies, I still have a soft spot for them
I would LOVE to get the Cars, Trucks and Ambulances or the Robots for my son’s big boy room. I would also LOVE LOVE LOVE to get any of the apple prints for an apron for me! Also love the elephants, so adorable! There are so many!
I absolutely love Hedgehogs on Blue! It reminds me of my pet hedgehog I had back in high school. That was a crazy little animal!
