Giveaway: Robert Kaufman Kona Cotton Color Cards

Robert Kaufman Fabrics has introduced 42 new colors of Kona Cotton Solids (including new organics and a premium jet black), bringing the total number of available colors up to 221. My friends at Robert Kaufman recently sent me a few of the newly updated sample cards. These cards are essential if you use Kona solids in your quilting or sewing projects at all — before I got one I was ordering colors based on web and paper catalog images, which just don’t cut it in terms of accuracy. Even if you’re fortunate enough to have a local brick-and-mortar store that carries a wide variety of Kona solids, having this card allows you to prepare a shopping list before before you leave the house.

I just have to keep one card for myself but I have two more to give away. Visit this link then come back here and leave a comment telling me the new color or colors you’re most excited about. This giveaway is open to the whole world. Comments will be open through this Friday, July 25, around 3pm; winners will be announced shortly afterwards here and on Twitter.

P.S. Since my last giveaway, I’ve received quite a few emails asking where to buy these sample cards. Pink Chalk Fabrics has the new ones and Hancock’s of Paducah has the old ones. Does anyone know of other sources?

Comments are now closed. picked #51 and #159, Heather (who likes Spice and Cayenne) and Liz (who likes Regatta). I appreciate all your comments, everyone — thanks for playing!

  4. Sarah says:

It’s hard to tell from the computer screen ;) However, I’m into oranges at the moment, so spice and mango are what I’m looking forward to seeing in person!

  5. Rebecca says:

Love the aloe!!! So pretty!! :)

  6. I’m really liking artichoke, evergreen and green tea. Love the names of the colors! Thanks for letting us know that a color chart exists!

  7. Diane says:

I know eggshell isn’t very exciting but that and pansy just strike me as beautiful. Thanks for the opportunity to win a color card!

  8. Wow! Great giveaway! I’ve always wanted one of these cards! I’m super excited about the new colors. The icy pastels make me think of ice cream. I want the eggshell color on one of my room walls. I like nearly all of the new colors. I think Azure is super pretty. Having a card like this will make it so much easier to pick solids for print fabrics I have so I won’t have to cut off any of the print fabric and take it to a store that doesn’t carry much of the Kona solids. This will be so much easier with online shopping. Please add my name to the hat for a chance.

  9. carrie says:

Lots of the new colors are great, but I’m loving mango, cayenne, and olive. Is there some kind of pattern with the food names, do you think? I was just talking to someone about needing to get these cards! Thanks for the giveaway!

  28. OLIVE!!!!! Hands down, my favorite new color. BTW all the dark colors look the same on my monitor! Yikes.

I especially like artichoke, asparagus, and sunflower. I would love to have a color card! We don’t have any fabric stores that carry more than just a few colors of Kona cottons, so most of my ordering is done online.

  42. Rosemary says:

Peony, Azure, Evening! Just the names alone are quite dreamy!

  43. Dot says:

Hard call as these colors are wonderful but especially like the greens (celery, artichoke, zucchini, etc) as the green choices up until now have lacked more subtle shades

  44. Linda says:

You’re right trying to choose through a computer screen just doesn’t work. I use Kona all the time and love it. What great new colours, I love the Eggshell and Mango.
