Giveaway: Robert Kaufman Kona Cotton Color Cards
Robert Kaufman Fabrics has introduced 42 new colors of Kona Cotton Solids (including new organics and a premium jet black), bringing the total number of available colors up to 221. My friends at Robert Kaufman recently sent me a few of the newly updated sample cards. These cards are essential if you use Kona solids in your quilting or sewing projects at all — before I got one I was ordering colors based on web and paper catalog images, which just don’t cut it in terms of accuracy. Even if you’re fortunate enough to have a local brick-and-mortar store that carries a wide variety of Kona solids, having this card allows you to prepare a shopping list before before you leave the house.
I just have to keep one card for myself but I have two more to give away. Visit this link then come back here and leave a comment telling me the new color or colors you’re most excited about. This giveaway is open to the whole world. Comments will be open through this Friday, July 25, around 3pm; winners will be announced shortly afterwards here and on Twitter.
P.S. Since my last giveaway, I’ve received quite a few emails asking where to buy these sample cards. Pink Chalk Fabrics has the new ones and Hancock’s of Paducah has the old ones. Does anyone know of other sources?

Comments are now closed. Random.org picked #51 and #159, Heather (who likes Spice and Cayenne) and Liz (who likes Regatta). I appreciate all your comments, everyone — thanks for playing!

Pink Chalk Fabrics also carries the updated Kona color card. Crazy, I just blogged about this tool yesterday!
Thanks SO much, Kristy — I added Pink Chalk to the info about sources.
I’d love to have that 353 Sunflower color on my bedroom walls!
What a great giveaway! I’m not crazy about all of the pastels. I love raisin. Thanks!
I am excited to see Pond in person. I wish I had all the colors, a whole bolt of each. Yum.
Oh I would love to win one of these!
I really love that mango color & the aloe color too!
Cool! What a useful tool! I’d have a hard time choosing between Cheddar and Zucchini!
Cayenne. and Apricot. and Caramel. Were we only supposed to pick one color? I can’t decide!
I love the Celery, Asparagus and the Nutmeg – they make me want to go home and start cooking!
Cayenne and Everglade. I have to buy nearly all my fabrics sight unseen off the internet, so a color card would be awesome.
I recently bought the new color charm pack from Pink Chalk-love the new colors. Favs are olive and mango.
Thanks!
Hehe – I want that whole jelly roll! I really like the Olive color – that could be such a pretty complement to a whole bunch of fabrics.
Pansy and petunia for me!
i really love the artichoke and green tea. It’s really hard to find great green solids.
I love aloe!
We’re ordering these for our shop, purlsoho. Look for them soon in our accessories departmnent. Thanks for the head’s up, we never thought about selling them!
I bought mine from Purl Soho. They don’t have them on their web site – you have to call them to order one.
Oooh, I really love the Lapis! These are all so pretty–I love Kona solids!
I think caramel and champagne are my favorites followed by cayenne (and the alliteration wasn’t intentional but merely a fun by-product!).
Love Cayenne and Everglade – especially together!
I would love to have a Kona color swatch! My all time facorite Kona color is Bahama blue but I really like Azure from the new line.
Like someone else said, it would be great to have a bolt of each in our stash! I’m excited about the blues, greens and oranges for the most part. In my 2010 plan is an aqua and red quilt, so anything in those ranges is catching my eye all the time!
Hi!
What a fun giveaway!
I love the Ruby and the Lapis … so very pretty!
THis is such a fantastic tool to have on hand while designing!!
OOOHHH…..If I have to pick one color to be excited about it would be Caribbean!
Mmmmmm… I love the spearmint and cheddar colors.
hmmmmmm……I love the color pond.
This is one I’d love to win! I like the new herb color – putty kinds of colors like that are surprisingly hard to find. Everglade is pretty sweet too.
Green Tea all the way. It’s just about everything I want in a green!
Ooh I love asparagus and green tea.
Butterscotch looks delish!!
I feel like Donkey from Shrek “PICK MEEEEE!” I think Raisin and Peony would work well together, but then, I’d have to see the samples, wouldn’t I?
Alot of those neutrals seem like they would also work well for flesh tones in doll-making
I LOVE solids and these are gorgeous. For me…Spearmint and Azure!
mmmmmm yummy.
The first colour, K001-24 Petunia, is just divine, and I really love K001-347 Artichoke and K001-353 Sunflower.
What a great giveaway!
Pink Chalk is definitely the place to go for these right now. I just got one from them since Hancock’s is on back order until August!
Great giveaway! I’m really loving the Butterscotch color.
Love! Just love the new colors!!
I love Mango and Zucchini. Kona cottons are wonderful!!
I love all the food-based color names. I would love to see Raisin in person, as I love a nice dark purple.
I like the Asparagus color
there are too many colors that i absolutely LOVE. however, the cotton spearmint really stood out to me. it looks so summery and refreshing!
i LOVE kona solids. gotta get me one of those cards
Artichoke is lovely!
That artichoke color looks great- the color card will be even more necessary with all of these new colors though!
I like coffee & champagne!
Aloe. Love it.
I never knew you could buy these! That would be so lovely to have!
Aloe. Asparagus. Artichoke. I totally *heart* them.
Ooh, lovely new colours. I like Aloe, Pond, and Butterscotch.
I am loving celery. I think it’s always hard to find the perfect green.
I am loving pansy, but really, they are all fantastic.
Regatta and Azure would be some of the first I would LOVE to buy, but they are all so so pretty. And that deep deep black looks like a lot of fun to work with!
I’m always drawn to shades of blue, so my pick is LAPIS (I was surprised to find this fabric named as this blue stone commonly used in Chilean crafts). I’d love to see white or natural prints on this Lapis blue.
Ok – how cool are these colour cards?! I didn’t even know they existed. I just adore the Spice and Cayenne colours…they make me want think of fall and good wholesome home cooking…mmmmmm!
