Giveaway: Pattern Pack From The Quilted Fish
Mary Beth met the wonderful Amanda Herring, aka The Quilted Fish, at the Spring Quilt Market. She gave us a pack of 10 patterns to give away — an $84 retail value! Pictured here are my three favorites — Year at-a-Glance, that shows a tree in its changing states throughout the year; Pincushion Flowers, which uses jumbo rick-rack ingeniously; and Whoopsy Daisy, with big, bold appliqued flowers on a monotone pieced background. Also included in the pack are:
- Posh Pennants – a girly take on bunting
- Sassy Squares No. 2 – a versatile fat quarter or layer cake quilt that will take on the character of the fabrics you use
- Love Letters – a nod to Victorian crazy quilts
- Flowers for my Friend – a quilt with appliqued flowers and simple strip piecing
- Giddy Bloomers – quilt with a harlequin diamond center and corners embellished with yo-yo flowers
- Bewitching – quilt with a cauldron surrounded by witch hats and a broom border
- I Wub Eve – sweet nursery quilt with appliqued Minky lambs
You can see more on Flickr. The patterns range in difficulty from easy to moderate.
Except for the children’s activity book pattern Piece Quiet (not included in this giveaway), you can’t buy Quilted Fish patterns directly from Amanda, but look for them in your favorite independent quilt and fabric shops.
To enter the giveaway, simply leave a comment on this post letting us know which fabrics you’ve been enjoying lately. A winner will be chosen next Monday, July 6. This giveaway is open to anyone in the world. Thanks for playing!

Random.org picked comment #110 as the winner. It’s Sandra of Pink Lady Designs, who wrote, “I recently acquired most of Laura Gunn’s Lantern Bloom collection and I am loving it!! Thanks for the giveaway!!”

I’m really loving the Heather Ross sleeping beauty line. I didn’t really like it when it first came out so I didn’t buy any, now I love it in every project I see online!
I just gave myself the luxury of using a Marimekko fabric for my kitchen towels. Pattern: Kippis (2008). So perfect!!!
I recently stumbled across Joel Dewberry fabrics. I am in love iwth Ginseng Square in Stone. Grey + modern = perfection!
Those pincushions are awesome! Thanks for hosting another great giveaway. I’ve been in love with Michael Miller fabrics lately–especially the Cute Critters and Lantern Bloom lines. I also still really like Jay McCarroll’s wacky lines and hope to see more from him soon.
Featured patterns= *swoon* I am currently collecting paisley fabrics, some reproductions and more modern interpretations from Prints Charming and looking for something to do justice to them. Also, because we HAVE to have more than one thing on the go, I’m in middle of sewing together a cute baby quilt made with Moda Wonderland charm pack.
I keep returning to my batiks. It is something about those lush colors, I guess.
Joel Dewberry, Heather Ross, Wonderland … and the list goes on and on.
wow! i love those patterns! i have been loving lots of fabrics on the internet…but i have really been loving using some of the fabrics that i got from my grandma’s house after she passed away.
Oh I’m in love with the seasons quilt.
I’ve been hoarding David Walker’s Lineworks Robots in blue lately. I love the blue and I love the charming little robots!
I recently acquired most of Laura Gunn’s Lantern Bloom collection and I am loving it!! Thanks for the giveaway!!
Fabrics! Heather Ross. I love the new Far Far Away line. Also really like Livingston Seagull by Alexander Henry
I love the Kumquat fabrics you posted about, but I am stocking up polka dots for my quilting class.
I love the patterns and I love the fabric.
Right now my favorites are the new Michael Miller fabric. Way too much to choose from.
Thank you for the giveaway.
I am loving Fig Tree Patisserie and Momo Wonderland! Thanks for the giveaway!!
I have been once again reminded that it is not always the flashiest fabrics, those that catch my eye first, that keep me interested the longest. The Oliver + S link you posted a few days ago most recently reminded me of this.
So this morning I bought a neutral but sweet daisy from the Katie Jump Rope collection as the backing to match a top I intend to make as my next project. It makes me smile to look at it and think that I barely saw it amongst the other bright colours. (In fact, I think it was even featured in the Oliver + S link.)
I am loving Lizzy House Red Letter Day. Just got some in the mail and can’t wait to start sewing!!
Right now my favorite fabric is a seagull print from Alexander Henry. I think it’s based on the work of Alexander Calder.
Currently I am on a self-imposed fabric purchase ban, so I am using up my stash. Last night I discovered fabrics by Jinny Beyer … It was VERY hard not to immediately buy some!
Loving Brandon and Kaffe
Ohhh, Anna Maria Horner! Anything of her’s, I admire her bold choices of color, so full of life! =)
I have several Zakka fabrics and Lecien Minni Muu Bears waiting for some inspiration…
Right now I’m all into Anna Maria Horner fabric line. I love fabric more than chocolate! Cynthia B
