Giveaway: Bali Pops Pack
Hoffman Fabrics recently introduced six new “flavors” of their popular pre-cut Bali Pops fabric packs. The packs include 40 different Bali Batiks cut in strips measuring 2.5″ wide by 44″ long. I’m not much of a batik person but I have worked with them before in quilts and appreciate their deep, saturated colors and organic, hand-rendered motifs. The Hoffman batiks come in an astounding variety of colors and beautiful, versatile designs. They sent me a mocha mint pack, and immediately upon opening the package I had the urge to go to Starbucks. I thought that was a funny reaction to tropical fabric.
Hoffman’s in-house designers create the motifs and colorways of their batiks, which are produced in Bali, Indonesia by master craftspeople using traditional handmade methods. If you need some guidance on how to use these packs, check out Breaking Waves, a free quilt pattern available through the Hoffman site. There are also for-sale patterns and/or books by Brenda Henning, Suzanne McNeill, Trisha Stuart, and Daniela Stout that employ these fabrics.
Hoffman is offering up one Bali Pops pack to a True Up reader. Just take a look at the 12 different color packs available and leave a comment about your favorite flavor. I will draw a winner randomly this Friday, August 7, 2009, around 9am eastern U.S. time. Yum!

I like mocha mint
Strawberry Field’s my favorite! The colors are gorgeous. It’s fresh and happy, i simply love that!
Nice giveaway! There are lots of nice colours, it’s hard to pick a favorite. But let’s say Green Tea.
I’d love to win the mocha mint! Thanks for the chance to win!
Wow, Spumoni and Cotton Candy!! I am feeling a sugar rush.
The spumoni … on a dish and in my Bali pop pack!
Spumoni! No….wait….I’ll have a Cappuccino in my ceramic mug! Yea! I will go with the Cappuccino!
I love ALL the flavors! They are beautiful!
Oh they are all too beautiful to choose just one! I think it might have to be Spumoni. It’s almost like Strawberry but more sophisticated somehow!
I think spumoni is my favourite.
Spumoni!! Thank you!
i think i like spumoni the best though all of them are very nice.
thank you for the chance to win!
how about the assorted 12pack? in lieu of that, I wouldn’t complain if a Cappuccino ended up in my stash!
Oh!! OH!! Oh!! Just pulled a blue berry trifle out of my frig. and started to look at all of these wonderful inspiring batiks!! Forgot about eating and started to dream of new creations with these fabrics. My choice would be BERRY BLISS to begin with and progress from there! Thanks for sharing these new possibilities with us, Suzanne
I like the Green Tea. It has a coastal feel to it.
