Preview: Love by Amy Butler

amy butler love

Amy Butler has just officially announced her new collection, Love, and posted preview images on her website. Various prints will be available on quilting weight cotton, home dec weight cotton, flannel, laminate, and double-faced quilted fabrics.

The variety of basecloths is very exciting, as is the mixture of styles and motifs in this collection. I’m all over the Scandinavian floral medallions and the bouquets on navy blue. As the logo above suggests, it’s a very eclectic, bohemian mix reminiscent of the 60s-70s, but with signature Amy Butler style. She writes, Love is “a marriage by design coming from a love affair of rich, soulful, organic florals and architectural prints passionately inspired by my recent trips to Indonesia and England.”

The preview images on Amy’s site give you a good idea of how they play off one another. So what are your first impressions? Love will be shipping to stores next month.

love love love. all i need is is all I need.

  2. i really like it. actually, it’s much more pleasing to me than her last few lines. maybe because it reminds me a bit of gypsy caravan.

  3. Barbara says:

My first impression – WOW! I love all those round pillows.

  4. natalie says:

yey! can’t wait to get my hands on these prints!!

Do you know if the Amy Butler Full Moon fabrics will be printed anymore? I’m looking for the lime.

  6. Amber says:

oh wow – I “love” it!! I wonder if those tops/dresses are new patterns too – so cute! I think I’m going to be dropping some money for that line!

  9. EmilyKate says:

Ooooh, I think this is my favourite Amy Butler collection yet! I’m really liking the deep royal purples, which I can’t recall her using previously.

  10. Michelle says:

Hmm, for some reason, this collection isn’t my favorite. I prefer the light bright colors of Midwest Modern. Too much navy blue and plum perhaps?

  11. Sarah says:

When I ordered this for my shop I hadn’t even seen the PDF renderings of the art work, I was going strictly by colorway. Then I got to see the artwork and it looked promising. But, when I got to see it on fabric, the way it is meant to be seen I was truly pleased. It is so much prettier in person, just wait! Amy’s photos do a good job of capturing just how lovely this line is. Can’t wait to get it!

  12. Kristin says:

I LOVE the new group. It is a bit of a departure from her usual style. I think the influence of her fellow Rowan designers is really starting to show.

  13. Paige says:

I saw a preview on her website, and I think it’s just gorgeous. Can’t wait until it comes out next month! I’m loving the florals against the dark blue.

  14. Amy says:

I love it! I will have to get the entire collection, I can’t wait to see it in person. Very boho hippie, I feel the line is more fashion forward, than her other lines, which I love. This collection really makes me excited!

  15. susie says:

i always love amy butler fabrics! can anyone tell me what the laminated fabrics would be used for? i’ve never seen her offer this option. thanks!

  16. Carrie says:

I “love” the new line by Amy Butler. I’m thinking baby bibs, placemats, handbags, and cosmetic bags for the laminated fabrics!
