Fall Quilt Market 2009: Heather Bailey

You’re mostly up to speed on Heather Bailey from the Schoohouse Post, but here is some more detail for you from her award-winning booth. #1. Check out the pillow! Digital printing!

Here’s the full story that inspired the prints, straight from the brochure: “Small-town girl, Nicey Jane, heads to the city on Friday nights to swing dance with her beau — but not before hanging the laundry to dry and enjoying an afternoon picnic on the farm. Every weekend should be so sweet.”

And as I mentioned before, the print names tell the story: Hop Dot, Wash Day Ticking, Hello Roses, Lindy Leaf, Dandy Stripe, Dream Dot, Picnic Bouquet, Welcome Road, Church Flowers, Swing Toss, and Pocketbook. Church Flower in pink is the one with the market share of the image above. Some of the collection coordinates with Heather’s earlier fabric collections.

That’s Lindy Leaf in pink, Dandy Stripe in pink, Lindy Leaf in blue, Hop Dot in cream, Picnic Bouquet in tangerine, Dandy Stripe in blue, and Picnic Bouquet in moss printed that will also come in a 54″ wide laminated cotton version.

A close-up of the to-die-for dress. Heather asked if people would want this dress pattern published and the answer was a resounding “yes.” So, keep your fingers crossed.

There are six new Heather Bailey sewing patterns, and many reflect Heather’s talents as an inventor (cf. Trash Ties!) There’s the New Leaf Folding Tote, grocery bags that fold into a compact wallet for easy storage; the Claira and Clancy Pig Dolls; the Flutterby Pincushions (above) which can be toys or needle books — ditto for the new Henrietta Turtle pattern; the Saturday Market Bag, with optional magnetic closures that unsnap for additional carrying space; and the Smarty Girl Book Bag with ruffle detail.

Sorry I don’t know exact dates on everything, but I believe Nicey Jane will be delivering in December. Keep watch on Heather Bailey’s blog for updates, but I’m sure you do that already!

    Absolutely love the dress!
I’ve basically been nursing or pregnant for over three years straight now and I’ll probably stay on that route for a while. I always complain how much I miss dresses… We need more dress patterns which open in the front.
This one is just gorgeous! Love the fabric choices too.
