A Beginner’s Guide to Digital Textile Printing

Kate McInnes (LoungeKat) emailed me to let me know about her free tutorial on vectortuts for setting up a file in Adobe Illustrator for digital textile printing. I’m extremely impressed — the tutorial itself is well designed and easy to follow, and it provides the most thorough instructions I’ve seen to date in regard to color management, which as we’ve learned is crucial to a successful print. Thank you so much, Kate!

THANK YOU for posting this – i was about to send a first test print this week – but since it´s relatively expensive, having this tutorial will ensure that i get great results the first time! this is perfect timing!

    Hi-
I have been meaning to send you this awesome website I found. http://www.creativetechs.com
It has online live courses for Photoshop, Illustrator and Digital Photography (many others too). Its free to sign up to watch (up to a week after the class) and if you want you can buy a series or go on a monthly subscription to download them. The instructors are wonderful and really good. I found it was a great help in addition to the books out there.
LOVE YOUR SITE! Keep it up!

I’m glad you like the tutorial, I love patterns and fabric and even though I make tutorials for Illustrators I really wanted to write something for everyone. I hope to take some of my own advice soon and design my first collection.
