Anna Maria Horner: Centerpiece in navy, from the Garden Party collection for FreeSpirit Fabrics. I loved seeing the resurgence of navy blue in general this year, but its role in Anna Maria’s vibrant color story was particularly innovative.
I am trying to diversify my stash of florals, and Rose Bouquet in emerald from Heather Bailey‘s Pop Garden collection for Freespirit made up for the lack of big, splashy, and bright in spades. This is so not my usual style, but I couldn’t stop thinking about that perfect green! I love the other colorways too.
Compared to the first two, these florals are much more in my comfort zone! I am forever on the lookout for good grays and subdued mustard yellows, so I was all over these two prints. The top one is “Daisy” from Kei Fabrics; the bottom is Optic Blossom in linen from the Midwest Modern collection by Amy Butler for Westminster Fibers.
How about you? What were your favorite florals of 2008?
