Nicole alerted me to La Plus Belle Collection de Tissues Liberty, or “the most beautiful collection of Liberty Fabric” blog. Every. Single. Liberty. Fabric. Ever. Well I don’t know if it’s every one ever, but it’s a very good representation.
Satin de Soie Mauve
The site is also a shop; most of the Liberty Tana Lawn is 28€/m, which is a painful 43 American dollars. And other fabric types go up from there. I am working on a post of Liberty sources for poor Americans, so if you have anything to put on the list please let me know.

Tissus. OK, that’s French for “fabric” … now I’ve got tecidos in Portuguese, tela in Spanish … what other languages do you True Up readers know? Help me compile my multilingual fabric word list!
Thanks Nicole!

It’s ‘tkanina’ in Polish
Singular in french is ’tissu’, without the ‘s’. You would had the ‘s’ if you had different kind of fabrics. Du tissu, des tissus…
In Italian it’s “tessuto”.
It’s tkan’ in Russian, kangas in Estonian, and (I’m pretty sure) kanga in Finnish.
There’s three more!
Waechter’s Silk Shop, in lovely Asheville NC, sells some Liberty prints. I half wish I’d splurged the last time I went on vacation, but … that’s okay. (And Tricia stole my russian thunder!)
It’s nuno in Japanese.
Liberty prints are my newest fabric to covet, but I’m afraid that would be quite a splurge for me! I keep hoping maybe, just maybe I’ll run across some at a garage sale or something…
My pleasure Kim, you’re doing an awesome job here, just loving TrueUp. How COOL is that Liberty blog! Drooling…
I think it’s Stoff in German, kinda like “stuff” in English… oh, and you need the initial capital letter, all German nouns have them;)
For Liberty buying in the US–
http://www.infab.com sells has a good selection for $32 a yard and I’ve had some great deals on ebay through a seller called katsfabrics. I just can’t say no to Liberty, especially now that it’s summer!
oops– it’s http://www.intfab.com
Kim, I LOVE LOVE this site. Thank you so much for sharing with us. I was going to share the same site as Liz. I found it through this post.

She has amazing vintage and new collections of fabric and everything, but seems to have done some Liberty research so may be a good person to ask.
Thanks again for this site, it is truly a treasure! Love Stacy
I love the idea of the Liberty Sources for Poor Americans post…I wonder if that happened? I’m going to search, but I’ll admit I’m not the best internet searcher…
